Three masted medium clipper ship under sail. Ships like the one  illustrated  plied the seas in the 1850`s Oil on
canvas the painting is signed by Edgar Crockett  ( 1902 - 1993  ) in pencil on the reverse side.  He lived and
produced his artwork in Rockland, ME a major seaport of mid - coast Maine. Note the clipper ship style bow and
rigging detail of the ship. The artist was knowledgeable about ships and how they performed in the turbulent waters
of the Northeast coast.
